The
first part of the music theme has finished and the dancer David Rivera Córdova must disguise the
tireness, the stress, the anxiety. “The complicated in marinera is stomping because strength in both legs is necessary,”
he reminds.
He
must address his focusing on the magic of art. “Many things are felt when the
band is listened – an emotion is felt like any sport.” Paradoxically who dances marinera can’t do much sports
because it’s an aerobic exercise itself.
“A
swimmer or a soccer player can’t be a good marinera
dancer – he must decide for one,” Tradición
Norteña Academy’s coach Luis Mori Rojas, 29, warns, whom David has joined. “We
have characterized by winning transparently,” Mori stresses.
“The marinera demands a general coordination of the body, flexibility in the arms, rigidity in the chest, power and stamina in the legs, mischief and elegance in the face – we have to warm up and the legs can’t be hard… but marinera works them out,” David clarifies.
Despite
all, people who do anaerobic training –that allows
power-development—can have learning sessions or practicing marinera as a complement. “You can’t smoke neither drinking because
it brings down your performance – you must be well fed, it’s too heavy,” David
warns.
However,
Luis Mori has asked him to work out his chest for improving his look, and for
getting fit into the costume. David tries to have a very healthy lifestyle and he prefers to stay
home studying, resting, or watching TV. “I’m a quiet guy, I don’t drink, I
don’t go to the disco, sometimes I go to the parties but I’m mostly my home.”
“He’s a very responsible guy, loving and hard-working what he’s going to do,” Luis Mori opines.
