Home Training

Is it possible to get the same results than if you worked-out at the gym?

By ChulucanasGym

Despite many posts say on the net, training at home is an option for people who don't have enough available time for attending a gym but could have the necessary will power to enter one.

It's also a choice for the ones who dont have enough money to pay a membership due to different reasons, but who also show up the enough will power to reserve a part of the day for keeping fit.

And the will power could be the starting point. If you don't have the enough motivation to schedule an hour of your day, or to set up the time for working out, you won't do anything.  Surely, you can request your best friend to visit at home for doing both together, but what would happen the day that friend can't attend?

Missing the training might not be your option, so the cause that motivates you must break out from yourself, in the beginning.

Define Your Goals
The question everybody asks is what exercises can be done at home, and the answer is before designing a routine, set up your physical achievement goals first: losing weight, keeping fit, increasing mass (yes, it is also possible).

Unless you already have previous experience with a supervised training at a gym (what trends to develop discipline), it would be worthy to invest in a personal trainer who helps you to set up those goals with greater objectivity and based upon science, biotype and body measures in other words, so the diet you use to have and you can optimize, and another relevant information as well.

Look for many opinions before choosing a personal trainer. The ideal is that one becomes a companion along your whole training process, but if your budget don't allow to, that could help you to start up with your first session, then supervising you weekly, biweekly, or monthly.

Remember that although you can develop a degree of trustness and friendship with your personal trainer, the ideal would be the relationship to be strictly professional at the time of coaching on you.

Whatever the reason, if you are not available to have a personal trainer, you can write us down at chulucanasgym@gmail.com for providing you with remote orientation (online). This service we offer you is a symbolic cost.

You Need Space
Although there is not a general rule about the space you need for doing the training, the criterion we recommend is your own comfortability. Maybe you need a couple of square feet, or maybe you need a whole room, or even your home's full backyard. Depending on you, your routine, and the existent availability, you must determine how much space you're going to use while you work out.

The suggestion we do point out as universal is your space must be free of obstacles what could harm you during your sessions. Imagine you work out in your bedroom and  you have eberything messy on the soil. Probably you get wounded by your own clothes or damaging your stuff. So although the space be little, you'll get alright if it were clean and ordered.

Versatility
One of the main benefits of home training is you schedule your training time and don't depend on the gym times. It's possible there is one near your home but the time you chose is already full of students. Instead, that problem gets solved at your home or bedroom.

Unless your life activities have no beginning, end time or your schedule be irregular, you decide the time you'll start to move.

of course if you have control of your life, the recommendable is setting up a regular hour for training, maybe just waking up, but if that is not possible, it comes alright anytime free you have.

Another most personal aspect at home, and depending on the privacy degree you have, is you decide what you wear for training. Inclusive you can work out underwore or even Ancient Greek-style (naked).  what you do must consider is there are certain clothes favoring  determined routine types better, depending on your physical goals.

If you work out with music, another advantage is you can do it with that you like much. There is no consensus here about what the ideal is neither. use that motivates you  and can mark you a beat, especially if you do a resistance or functional training. A Bach's selection as well as the Rocky's music score are perfectly valid.

Another aspect that represents a home's advantage over the gym's is you won't have to wait  at any locker-room for free showers. After cooling your body, you go straight to yours and take a bath.

How Many Time Do I Need?
Another advantage of home training is if your time at the gym is very attended, you already won't have to wait for the machine or the space to be free, what means you a time saving. But if you think you need at your home the same lapse you need at the gym, go ahead.

if the time scarce is your enemy or your justification, at least set on 20 or 30 minutes. You can control it classic-style, watching a clock in other words, or setting up your mobile alerts. if you work out with music, you can take as a reference that 5 full songs (usually the radio-edit versions)  equals about 20 minutes.  If you add three more, you'll have the half hour.

In the morning, in the afternoon, or at night? The general medical consensus is when you work out early, just waking up, you charge endorphines for the whole day, those will keep you alert, good humor. You won't have any excuse to run away your own regime, by the way.

However, we repeat, that adjusts to your own life train. The important is you be constant, that you never leave off.

With Or Witout Apparel?
One of the existent prejudges is you can't get at hgome the same results like at the gym because we don't have enough equipment, or we simply don't have any.

Of course if you pretend to be a top-profile athlete, this reason probably could justify. But if your purpose is keeping fit or recuperating it, the creativity is more important than the complexitty.

The universal thing applying to the training at the gym, at home, outdoors, wherever, is dividing the body into key muscular groups: shoulders, arms, chest, back, abs, gluteus, tighs, and calves. Then, your training plan must consider them all, full, focused, in-circuit.

The general or full-body routines look for activate you from the top to the base with exercises working more than a muscular group at a time, with relatively acrobatic movements  (There are all-dificulty levels), those can be used for gaining resistance as well as increasing power, acording to the quantitty and the intensity you take on.

As much as you go gaining more reliability on your routines, many times they end to seem without-apparel olympic gymnastics sessions. Don't feel bad if the trick goes no good at the first attempt. You'll have to practice it until getting it. The results will appear in the process.

[READ ALSO: Aerobics at the beach]

The focused routines are concentrated into a determined muscular group or a couple of them each session, and they are usually used in the power training, the ones looking for strength and volume gaining, in other words.

The in-circuit routines are referred to the ones methodically focused  in some or all muscular groups each session, alternating them to take advantage out  of the resting moments. In other words, in one same session you can start with an exercise for tighs while you don't do anything with your arms, then when you leave doing tights go to the arms, and when you leave them go back to tighs or go to the back, then you do calves.

The functional training is a good example of in-circuit training although it's not the only one. Remember that one of its advantages is it takes up what be around you, turning into accesories for doing each exercise, from your own body weight tover the soil to  the furniture near you.

Yes, a chair, your bed, a small fence can be useful for this purpose.

if you have acquired or have access to any type of training home machine, it also can give you too-notable advantages like if you were using a dozen of them at a gym. Some personal trainers are too capable than inclusive teach you  to adopt certain angles with your body, so a 40-pound  weight look like a 120-pound one, reaching significant results (that's why we said you have to ask well before having a home advisory).

Some people can make their own training apparel or accesories as barbells, those are perfectly valid. The same thing if you buy them at a specialized store. Keep in your mind that if although how is important, also are important what, when, how much, where and why.

what Routine Can I Do?
If you already solved the whole prior details, you can start on moving.  Whether apparels or accessories, or not, the key parts your training session have to include are the warming-up and the routine itself.

Although we are not fans of the rigid formulas, if you insist on knowing what type-routine you could follow up, here we give you one, which you can changing as  you gain more power or resistance.

Warming-Up:
- 4 sets of 10 crunches (if you do them over the soil, remember to protect your back  with a pad or many clothes muffling  and not pressing your skin).
- 5 minutes of static trot or running (if you don't have a walking machine, you can help by using a back chair for not going forward or reverse).
- 15 to 20 pushes on the wall.

Arms, includes shoulders and torso (chest and back):
- 4 sets of 12 push-ups (with hands unite you work out pecs, hands aligned to shoulders work out shoulders with your arms, you work out the back if you put your hands a wide distance.)
- 4 sets of 10 push-ups with feet raised over a sofa, a chair, or your bed (this demands a bigger dificulty, but as you set your hands like the previous exercise, you get the same work-out levels.)

Tighs and gluteus:
- 4 sets of 20 full squads (pushing down your buttocks as much as you can, and flexing up your legs not setting them straight, trying first your feeet unite, then quite separated, and finally widely separated.)
- 4 sets of 15 jumping flexes, whether the feet unite or alternating one foot forward and the another one behind.
- 4 sets of 10 one-leg squads, while the another one is extended  behind for pushing your gluteus when you flex down; then, you do other 10 with the another leg.
- 4 sets of 10 strides.

Calves:
- 4 sets of 30 lift-ups, putting on your toe tips over a step letting your ankles suspended in the air, those you'll lift-up and lift-down (try to hold something  for not losing the body balance.)
- 4 sets of tip-toe walk during 1 minute (our executive editor says you probably will be gotten wrong, but it actually work out your calves.)

We repeat that if you have machines, aparels or accesories at home, you can reply the same movements like at the gym. They work exactly the same. You can also can combine them to the non-apparel training we suggest lines up.

And finally, ever remember the exercise without a balanced diet, enough resting neither, will be useless for you.

It’s time to set you up goals now

You already got engaged to the training, everything suggests you don’t want to leave it – what it comes up next?

Did the big ones of the bodybuilding & fitness begin being big? Not, they didn’t, definetely. Although there’s no general rule, the most probable is they have begun like wondering, that they have became fond of it when they saw the first results furtherly, and that has made him enthusiastic for going to climb more and more.

Maybe someones decided to go upgrade, they started to compete professionally achieving local, then national, then international titles. At this point, it’s important to say such as achievement were not a gambling result but a strategic planning which steps were accomplished little by little. That’s called achieving goals.

If you just entered the training, you maybe don’t see it so clear. If you have certain time, you could consider it as a possibility. But if you feel you have reached atop, it’s probable you feel everything begins to become routine, no much expectation. And if you get boring, the most probable is you end to leave it.

You need a strategy

The best way to avoid a desertion in short or medium term is set you up goals or progressive and logical arrival points along the time those mean not only physical development but keepers of the wellbeing sensation you have achieved at a first time.

If we have an arrival point, we logically have a starting point, and that is your actual status:  what your actual body measures, what the diet you follow is, what your lifestyle is right now, even your health condition. Anyway, basis information upon a plan can be built. The requirement is this data to be the most honest as you can.

From this basis information, begin the process to set up progressive goals at short-term, medium-term, and long-term. If you have the enough experience by training, take the all necessary time to think and write this plan. If you don’t have that experience, sit down with your trainer alone, begin to outline all. If you don’t trust in your trainer, we leave you our contact later.

But setting up goals is not enough. To reach them, you have to get a set of sequential tasks those take you closer time by time – the training strategy. What routine you will do the first month, what routine you will do the next month, and the next, and so until you reach your goal into a right time.

And around the routine to work you out, what diet you must follow up, what things you must adjust in your lifestyle, and what health indicators you must have in mind. It sounds boring, but when somebody begins to know his body better, this turns a fascinating job. See it that way.

When you get to your first goal, analize what worked to you and what not, what you must strengthen and what you must correct, take your measures again, check the diet, verify your lifestyle, monitor your life condition. If all this give positive results, award yourself and begin to work for the next goal. If you don’t get it, continue fighting and don’t give up.

More practical actions

Although the trainer, if you have one, is the prepared person to guide you in the process, we also advice you have a physical and emotional support that allow you to talk, motivate, not to give up. It can be a training partner, your best friend, a relative, somebody you ever can run to.

About this point, as we ever insist, it’s not recommendable to follow the strategy of other person and apply it like it were yours because two organisms, even being the same kin, don’t react the same.

Ever do the exercise of seeing yourself in the mirror alone and appreciate these little or big changes you go experiencing and assuming them like your achievements. You by yourself Will go telling us what it feels when passing through that experience. Later, we’ll  leave you the ways to contact us.

And, finally, it Will be ever days which we are highly enthusiastic and others we don’t have  motivation to do something. There’s no much problem of the first ones. With the second ones, the challenge precisely consists to overcome the discouragement and begin the training. If you let to defeat by him, even a bit, it will go gaining land little by little and it will go defeating you. And remember – you already got engaged, it’s time to go beyond now.

You can send us your questions or comment us your achievement and wondering by writing us on our Twitter account or at our e-mail chulucanasgym@gmail.com

Do I Tell My Trainer I Have A Pre-Existent Health Condition?

Oscar is 33 years old and works out regularily at the gym, although leaving it for periods due to his work charge. However, he has become a cardio-fan –especially spinning- and he rarely did barbells and apparel.

However, after his last break, he has got back and his trainer put him straight to work out apparel and barbells not considering first the little overweight he was. A month and a half after re-starting his training, Oscar feels he can’t complete the whole routine, he tires very fast, and although he noticed it to his trainer, this one seems not to care about and repeats Oscar he is going to accostum eventually.

Oscar’s family has a diabetes record, a health condition that consists in the increase of glucose levels (sugar) in blood. We know from our experience working out that the glucose provides us the energy we are going to use during our routines and our daily life, and it is usually regulated by the hormone called insulin. So, a person with diabetes is not capable to produce insulin for creating this reaction, so if the glucose levels are not controlled, the person can become to collapse.

Oscar confesses  he already began to make some frequent analysis for determining the diabetes risk, and everything seems to be inside the limits until now. “But my trainer doesn’t know it,” Oscar says. One of the reasons he preferred to ignore this medical fact before his trainer is Oscar thinks his trainer will not know how to process this information, and because his trainer could comment it undiscretionally to not-related people.

The issue is that Oscar would have to warn this information to his trainer, first because of his safety, for the training adapts as it collaborates with the prevention of the diabetes (as his case would be), and the second is if Oscar could suffer any type of related problem, his trainer could not have a plaintiff. However, this is not an excuse.

A Data Policy
Independently from the size and the budget of the gym, having a file with key information of every pupil is necessary: full name, address, contact phone numbers (especially in urgency cases), height, weight, age, and current routine.

If the gym can invest an extra money in documenting information, it could include key clinical data as blood group, supplement the pupil could be taking, if there is any pre-existent health condition, and the record of the suggested routine and diet. Some applications allow to manage this information.

This information is a warrant for the pupil, the trainer, and the gym as well, as much as it is taken as true, and it is taken as a guide for the best training routine or diet to determinelike the most adequate for every person. And let’s remember they must be absolutely customized due to the processes of every organism are quite different each other.

Then, if the gym, the trainer, or the pupil decide to ignore this context by their own side, a simple investigation based on those files will make easier to identify responsible people.

Finally, the trainers who are not managing top-profile athletes should consider that if a pupil warns about a pre-existent health condition, whether it is true or false, what is saying is not an exhausting training is looked for, so the trainer must consider the fact as true, and adapting the exigency to the frame that supposedly has been specified or described. In this case, it is worthy to act slowly despite strongly.

And regarding the Oscar’s claim about an alleged undiscrete conduct of his trainer, he should notice it to the gym’s administration for the corrections to be taken. But every gym must have a clear confidentiality disclaimer that has to be explicit on the document every pupil signs up.

Yes. It could seem too many things to include, but we are talking about human lives, not objects. If you are not clear about this detail, you have no clear what the nature of the physical culture is.

Should You Have A Massage?

George  has finished his training routine for today. He had legs, and squads concentrated a big part of his time. While he warms down a Little before taking a shower, he notices there is some corner  in the back part of his waist, the lower back to be more specific. And this is not the first time ever, apparently.

He comments it to his trainer, who does a quick exam and notices the muscle is evidently resented. “You should check it up with a specialist, although you should treat the pain with a masseur,”  he advices. While George walks on the gym’s showers, his trainer reviews other similar cases. It seems the waist pains  were a common illness among his pupils. Maybe, he is not so far away the truth.

Many trainers we have talked to, coincide in this type of injury – the lower back’s. And in some cases, they add knees’, independently if it’s about a power or resistance training or the mixed ones as functional training. The causes could be a bad pose, a wrong movement, or the excessive weight in power trainings. It could be the George’s case, maybe. But what about the advice of having a massage?

JonatanChero is a Piura, Peru-based masseur and has a clear answer about: “yes, depending on the case.”  When somebody works out, especially heavy, trends to break the muscular fibers at mycroscopic scale. In compensation, the body segregates lactic acid and repairs the mycro-injuries. And if proteins were consumed, those go to be part of the new tissue. That is in brief the principle of muscular reparation and the building of new muscular fibers.

But, how does a massage help? It can be very effective to calm the effects of the intense exercise because it has the ability of decreasing the muscular spasms, relieving the muscular pain, and accelerating the recuperation process. “It removes the accumulating liquids to cause inflamation, helps the blood circulation, and shifts the reparation of muscular fiber,” Chero adds, who warns it doesn’t ever work in all the cases.

“We have to see the injury degree that the patient has,” he clarifies. “When it is much severe, it is not recommendable.” That means, when there are too much broken fibers. “That can be verifiable by the swelling level, and over all by the pain and the movement ability the patient has.”

Chero also discards the prejudge that a massage can increase the muscular mass.  It is only a very punctual therapy that, instead, reduces the muscular fatigue, what means a minor recuperation time between training routines, that favors a better performance during them.

When  To Have A Massage?
For bodybuilders and athletes in general, the massage is a very usual activity as the training routine, the feeding, or the rest time, and there are two moments its application must be considered: just finished the training session, in a preventive way, and when there is an evident injury, in a therapeutic way.

In the first case, do your training routine as you accostum. Once finished, warm down about 5 to 10 minutes, go to take a refreshing and relaxing shower, and just when you get dry, put yourself under the masseur’s hands. Usually, a session lasts from 15 to 20 minutes, although it is relative according to your needs. In the preventive procedure, the key is letting not to spend the time but doing one activity after another.

The therapeutic procedure does have another timing. “It’s never good to have massage just the injury is evidenced,” Jonatan Chero warns. “The best is letting to spend some hours; for example, if you injure at night, attend the next morning; if it happens in the morning, go in the afternoon; if in the afternoon, have the massage at night.” In this specific case, it’s better a specialist exams you before the massage, as a traumatologist or similar, and proceed only if he prescribes it to you.

Finally, Jonatan Chero shares us some key tips regarding the massage sessions, those can be useful for you.

Before the massage:
  • Preferently schedule your date when you are completely free, maybe at the end of your day, or don’t accumulate many activities one after another for the next couple of hours.
  • Think deeply about it will be good for you.
  • Attend after take a meticulous bath.
  • Turn off your cellphone or turn it silent. Avoid the technology to distract you.

During the massage:
  • Relax, breathe deeply. Get disconnected from your problems.
  • Trust in the therapist, only provided his experience is certified.
  • Let get involved by the sensations that the experience produces in you. It’s part of the therapy.

After the massage:
  • Have a time to rest deeply.
  • Avoid the episode that produces you stress or injury.

Don’t forget to share your experience giving or having a massage at chulucanasgym@gmail.com, or on our Twitter account, or leaving a message just right below.

So, are you motivated going to the gym?

By Eder Dioses. Photos by Jhon Gómez.

Looking yourself on the mirror, you wish to have a beautyful, healthy body. The first you think is beginning a routine at the gym.
We suggest you choose a gym on your way to the work, university or home, because one of the most ‘popular’ excuses not to go to is “it’s too far.”
Make the gym to be part of your daily routine. As you have to go working, studying, etc., you have to go training.
Coming up next, we’ll advice you for you stay at the gym pretty everlasting, comfortable, and you don’t give up on your goals.

Cost:  You must have in mind that the most expensive gym isn’t ever the best. Before signing up, you have to verify that the gym has the stuff you need to work out the best and your results, indeed.  The ideal is having the next:
Cardio apparel: Verify it has cycles and elipticals. If it doesn’t have a cardio zone, it won’t be easy you oxide fat or having optimus warming-up.
Barbells: Handlers must be in good condition.
Wide Space: Verify it. The ideal is working out not feeling how your classmate sweats beside.
Safety: Apparels must be in good condition. Machines maintenance have to be continuous. Check out that pulleys, cables and barbells be able to be used – you could have an accident.
Certified trainer:  At least, you have count with two who advice on your own routine and according to goals you wish to reach, as well as to advice on nutrition. Some gyms have a nutritionist, who is independent from the trainer. It’s not a waste of time to verify his or her professional certification.

The first days: if it is your first time at a gym, it will turn quite hard and it is probably you’ll feel scared because it is something new or unknown for you. But take it easy!
Once inside, talk to your trainer, expose your doubts, your goals. He or she must help you to clarify the whole picture.
Don’t forget to carry a towel, water, deodorant and extra clothes.

Basic moves: The first one you have to do is warming up to avoid your articulations and fibers get wounded, because you have to prepare them for a strongest exercise , to you aren’t accostummed yet.
Ride the cycle or walk on eliptical during 10-15 minutes.
If you are going to lift weight, it’s important you ask for machines right function. Intuition in this case isn’t very good. You could do things against biomechanics.

After classes:  When you finish, take a relaxing bath, wear clean clothes and go eating inmediatly. Your body is in a critic point, so it needs fuel, urgently. It needs food & protein to put again what you lost by working out.

Pain is normal: It is usual your body be completely achy for the second or the third day, even you don’t want to get back to the gym. Take it easy! It’s normal!
There’s a quote: “If it pains, it’s because you’re doing it right.” Explanation is so simple – your lactic acid levels are on top, so that’s wy it pains.
However, wake up, get back to the gym. The best medicine is submitting your muscle fibers again to physical activity.

If you have questions, doubts or commehnts, leave them here below, or contact us on our Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Warm Up First

5 tips about its importance and correct procedure.

By Henry Hernández
Special to ChulucanasGym

What's the first  you gotta do when starting a training session at your home, the gym, or outdoors? The first you gotta do is warming up.

Its purpose is preparing your whole body in general and each muscular group in particular  for the serious part of  the training, whatever  you have chosen - power, resistance, functional. If you skip this step, the risk you suffer from injuries  is high.

For you to understand its importance, I invite to think of a piece of raw clay. If you propose to use it plastically for giving the wished form, it is going to break or it is not going to be molded like you want. That's why first it is worked out, warming it up by using the hands, so when the molding to begin is easier.

More or less it's the same principle with your body.

Now, what every pupil asks me when I start to train him, and I request him to warm up, it's how to make it correctly. It's not only about moving. Here I give you 5 tips those you must never forget.

1. Stretch correctly
What are you going to work out today? Well, the first you must remember, when a muscular group is worked out, is you have an agonistic and an antagonistic muscle, I mean, a muscle that makes the action and another that opposes or balances such action.
The trick is stretching both muscles. For example, if you do squads, stretch gluteus and hamstrings (the muscles of your buttocks  and those are located in the back part of your tights, respectively)
The stretches allow to prepare articulations and muscles better, so you don't cramp  at the less expected moment. That's why this step is important.
Plan with your trainer  the muscles to stretch, the way and the time to be dedicated to this moment.

2. Be aware about reps
This is key because the function of warming up is to prepare the body, not doing all the effort in one slam, so when you begin the main routine, you don't have any wish to continue. I ever advice to do about 2 sets of 20-25 repetitions.
As lasting as your body develops, we can increase the number of sets or the number of repetitions, but if you're a beginner, that would be the recommendable.

3 Keep your body heat
I mean you rest the just time that allows you to recover but that unallows your muscle gets cold. when you train, the move produces certain little heat. So, the idea is not losing it. And that little heat is gotten by doing many reps. Thus, you activate and catch the wave.
Look! - This moment is important because here is when we really start to work out. Then if it is crucial, you'll understand you must never dismiss it and doing it correctly.

4. Control your resting time
Not too brief that you tire out inmediatly, not too long that you get cold and you have to start from the beginning everytime.
Depending on your grade, the routine type, and the time you dedicate to it, the resting times can last 30, 20, or 15 seconds. Ever start with 30 to setting you up progressively, even if you return to train after many time (for example, more than 3 months)

5. Get focused totally
Although there are colleagues who forget it and there are pupils who think this is a waste of time, the importance of balancing your mind and your body during a training session is so crucial that it reflects on the results. I see pupils at the gym who really get it, and pupils who laugh on their backs. And I laugh on who laugh because they don't know what they do.
Getting focused  or being concentrated means you are concious of the actual time, the move you do, how you're breathing, what reactions your body experience, and especially how you're managing the distraction.
Before moving any muscle, learn to take a time for you, leaving all your life out the training space, and noticing how you breathe. Try to regulate your inhalations and exhalations until they happen naturarily, so deep that you feel your lungs to fill, then letting them empty for receiving the next air load.
When you catch it, have eberything you need to train close to you, listen carefully to the instructions of who is guiding you, do every rep and set realizing about you do and how you do it, watching your rests, paying attention to the change of exercise just in case.
Learn to visualize yourself in your mind with the whole physical achievement you're looking for. Believe it or not, this mental exercise favors possitively the physical exercise because it gets your body ready to get the maximum advantage from the effort you do. Hold the visualization during the main routine and once you finish.
When your session ends, ever express gratitude to yourself, to the one who support you, and to what is around you. You'll see when you retake your life, everything will be seen different and even easier.

whenever, I'll feel happy to receive your questions in here or directly to my Facebook account where we can chat in private.

Fit to save lives

Looking for perfection in sports to serve the people owing nothing in return.

By ChulucanasGym

Many people, even you, could transcend through the sports as a goal, what means to be prepared consciously, compete and win.  However, there are who set up to perfectionate in a sport for stepping ahead different but no more no less important - helping the people. And we're not talking about teaching a sport or discipline for the rest to practice and spread, butserve the community after making the sport as one of your ways of life.

That's the case of Lima-based businessman David Villanueva, 44, who used to be a sportsman his whole life, becoming a soccer player in a second division team even. The gym became an usual space for him, that he also looked for it everytime he traveled around.

"I do it because I like it," he explains trying to give a reason that motivates him to be in constant physical activity.

But the issue goes beyond a simple like. Last months, his whole vision of life changed when he decided to postulate in Peru's Volunteer Firefighters General Corps, one of the most loved, misunderstood and sometimes mistreated institutions in the country.

"The firefighter's job is saving lives," he comments, so the training that David had along his life (cardiovascular, specifically) is key in terms of stamina and power, what is under proof during rescues.

Each firefighter must incorporate a physical routine activity in addition to the theoretical learning, that allows to be eveready everytime the emergency breaks. In David's case, there are no limits about routine types more than being in constant physical activity.

Why does a very talented, skillful dude suddenly fall fascinated  by the chance to serve the people? The most approppriate answer is vocation, what means the will to do what we like much for getting the people's wellness, owing nothing in return but the satisfaction of feeling useful.

Many people look for that state in proffessional, religious life as well because the simple propose to transcend, go beyond. Some sportsmen use to do it through charity, giving their gains for the people to live better in other words (and there are hundreds of examples).

But David's goes in a closer, more practical way impacting directly the people's life - saving each one at a time. Hey! This is not about the way David acts to be better or worst but it can be a choice you could consider to make sense for those hours you worked out hard, sweated, disciplined and achieved.

"It's not easy because you even have to sacrifice time as you spend with your family, weekends, parties or friends," David stresses, and it's part of the whole kit you accept enthusiastic, especially if we have in mind that the firefighters in Peru are not remmunerated for their work (that's why they're volunteers).

If you go up through that way, talk directly to David, look for information at 127 Salamanca station or the fire station closer to you.

Oh! And never forget to have the emergency number available to use it when a real emergency breaks.
